Christmas Crafting

A couple times during the fall I hold Saturday classes whereby we make 12 cards - Christmas cards, however, they are not all the same. We make 4 cards of 3 different designs. Everyone really liked the designs and colour choices. We made this yesterday!

So much fun!

Doily Days

I can't help but take some kind of everyday goody and put it on a card somehow. I do a lot of that with tidbits of things from the local dollar store too.
This class and the help from Pinterest gave me some ideas for using paper doilies. Just love how they turned out. So delicate and sweet looking!

Hope you like them as much as I do.

Tie Dye Technique

Well I just love this technique. The colour combinations are endless. The only difficult part of the whole process is making sure there is enough water to smooch the colours together and not too much to wash them away.
A couple weeks ago the ladies did regular tie dye size cards and a shirt card. My first card didn't have enough water and the last one had too much. It was pure fun making these!

Joseph's Coat

Not only was Joseph an amazing individual in the bible who showed strengths and wisdom but also a wonderful individual who forgave his rotten scoundrel brothers. These "Joseph's Coat" technique cards also forgive a lot too. No need to be precise when putting down background colours of light autumn shades or baby softness hues to make the flowers and doves stand out here. Love this technique. I tried with large autumn blotches and baby sized small so the doves could soak up each colour. The final results... beautiful. I think so anyway. I need to get a better picture taking spot to capture the full beauty of these cards.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!

New Beginnings Eclipse cards

Well, we're off to a good start of card making classes.  Old friends making new beginnings! What a fabulous night of card making. It was like we never stopped.  We did two cards (as always) same technique, two styles using different tools. They couldn't believe they made them.
Take a look at these Eclipse Cards

Used the Misty for this one

Used simple masking for this card

Autumn memories

I was going through some cards I had packed away for some time and came across this beauty we had made using dollar store goodies. Some simple inexpensive additions can make all the difference sometimes.

Some GREAT FUN making cards

Well, I am now a Grandma. He is now 1.5 yrs old and a handful. Full of energy, I'm hoping some of that will rub off on me.  Hahahahaha!!! I'll keep praying about that one😊.
I want to share with you some cards I've made over the last little while.

This card I made for my sister-in-laws recent birthday. I was also commissioned to make one for a girl still in post secondary school.

60 candles for a good friend...my crafting cohort, Wendy
Below is a baby card for my niece's shower. There is a ToysRUs
Gift card and the bottom picture reveals the pull tab (on the inside front panel)
This was a fun card to make.

Another card a bible study friend got me to make for her Snoopy loving daughter.

This guy was not crazy about turning 40

Another commissioned piece. So nice to make

My Grandson 1st birthday

More commissioned work

What a great couple years I've been having doing nothing but doing lots!
I will be getting back into the swing of things next month, hopefully, and continue doing what I love to do most.
Thanks for stopping by!

Wedding Card

Here's a little something I was commissioned to build for a friend who's daughter is getting married. I played over the weekend. One of a kind card. I really like the depth of this card with the bench out front and the branch from a tree hanging over with the love birds. Took a while to build up the frame. The birds have the tiniest of rhinestones for eyes. I think i'll make a couple more! Maybe!

A 90th Birthday Party!

I just love it when I'm on a roll! Went to a birthday dinner for a very lovely lady with some very special friends and I made the card for her. Gotta figure out a better way to take photos of my cards so they show all the details. Must be in the lighting!?

Wedding, wedding and more wedding!

Two cards I CASED and used for a niece recently.
They look better in real life.

Football Season is here

Recently I made a card for my son for his birthday. I really didn't know what I was looking for but knew as soon as I saw it I would CASE it. Because I made it 5 X 7, using the embossing plate was difficult. All in al I had fun making this card.

70th Birthday

My brother-in-law turned 70 yesterday and we celebrated today at the local pub. Great time had by all. Here's the card I made for him. He is an avid golfer and I could have made several different cards but I saw one on Pinterest and it spoke to me so here's my take on it.

Birthday celebrations 60 & 65

Just this past weekend Tom and I eat to two different birthday celebrations. One for my cousins wife who turned 60 and one for a good friend who turned 65.
The first card's inspiration came from an idea I saw on Pinterest. Ooo just love that site! And the second one I just kind of went with it.
Real scrabble pieces

The inside said 'It's not the years, it's the mileage. HAPPY BIRTHDAY'

Enjoy!

February Blues

 Hi Everyone,
Time flies when you're busy, busy, busy! I just don't know where the time goes. Got right up and flew away!!! LOLπŸ˜† its been some time since I had a class. I miss it terribly but something seems to always pop up and then I don't get on it like I should. It's like a bad diet! You start, get side tracked, then say f@&# it! I've been keeping up with all the new stuff and want to play more. Easter is around the corner so I have a bunch of cards to make for it.
I will also be decorating the tables and hall fo Easter breakfast again this year so I hope I can come up with some new decorations of sorts. Kind of tires of the old grass and chocolate egg thing in the table centre and a single vase with a flower look. Pinterest here we come!

Maybe something like this? But in Easter colours? Ya, I think that might work.

Easter goodies

All ready for Easter. Had a great time making kiss flowers. I'm sure everyone at church will like them...and the cupcakes too!

I think I saw something on Pinterest similar to this.

Oldie Goldie

Oh my gosh! I remember doing these quite a few years back...2009 if I'm not mistaken. Turns out I had stamped a whole pile of them but never completed...until now! Love how that deep deep purple, Blackberry Bliss works with quite a few. Who doesn't like a blast from the past mixed with the way of today?

😎

Faux Pergamano

Also known as raised velum was this weeks class. Although I didn't have the best stamps to use for illustration, I think they turned out pretty darn goodthough. This was a fun technique and could be used for just about any sentiment. Not too sure about a manly card...really have to put my thinking cap on for designing one of those.. I have been really inspired these last couple of weeks by so much. Hope I don't lose the inspiration! Here are some of the cards I made for class.

For this card I did not burnish the velum. This was a bad stamping job gone bad but I fixed it up a bit.
My lighting sucks!

Watercolour Bokeh

I just found the most wonderful type of background creations for cards. It's called watercolour Bokeh and although it's a it time consuming, I love the outcome. I think I made one in almost every colour. This card I am sending off Stae side for a birthday to a gal I don't even know. I hope she likes it when she gets it. I also taught this in class a couple weeks ago. So much fun!

Baby Shower Goodies

Our organist at church had her baby and we celebrating by throwing a shower. Here are some goodies I made to give as treats.

I designed the rattles on my Silhouette

The doiles on the table and all the confetti. It was sooo much fun!

Easy Peasie Pull up card

I saw a new design of a card in a magazine and wanted to copy that idea so I set to work making my own design template and made a couple cards for clas that went over well.

One of the cards we made.
